w/c 10th June - 5 things this week

1. Isle of Man TT 2024 : Michael Dunlop becomes the King of the Mountain

It’s easy to run out of superlatives trying to describe the Isle of Man TT (just watch this onboard footage and you’ll see why) which makes it even more incredible that Michael Dunlop stands at the top of the leaderboard of all time wins at 29. Some boy that. Here are the best stories from this year’s event with a video montage of the best bits here

2. John John is back in yellow after winning the 2024 El Salvador Pro

It’s been a difficult couple of years for the world’s most stylish performance surfer, with back to back knee injuries putting him on the sidelines. It’s good to see him back on form and nailing 10 point rides too.

3. Founders buy GCN & Play Sports Network back off Warner Bros. Discovery

Turns out when you sell a majority share of a cycling media platform to a global sports media company, they’ll just hack off the best bits, add it to their own channels, then flog the gutted carcass back to the founders when they’re done. Reportedly the only thing left operating are the Youtube channels. We wait in anticipation for the great resurrection…

4. The MTB World Series rolls into Val Di Sole in back to back race weekends

Mountain biking’s top riders set up camp in Italy after last weeks thriller in Leogang, Austria. Vali Höll and Loic Bruni are the ones to beat. Find out how to follow the racing here. Get the inside scoop from the Misspent Summers crew here.

5. Snowboard International adds print magazine to online platform

In this day and age, trying to setup an action sports print magazine isn’t too far short of setting fire to £50 notes, because the colour of the flames make your heart tingle. However this job posting would suggest the crew at Water Born Media are up for the challenge. Good luck and fingers-crossed I’m proven very wrong.
